I began working in bike shops at age 15 in Muskegon, MI sweeping up floors and building kids bikes while racing my Slingshot mountain bike around Michigan and the eastern USA. A decade later I started working in a shop again in Ypsilanti, MI after having moved there to attend the University of Michigan. It was a job at a service focused shop with an owner who was a great bike mechanic and frame builder and who impressed the absolutely critical role a mechanic plays in the performance of a bicycle and the experience of it’s rider.

Since then I have worked in service, management, and service management in some of the top shops in SE Michigan as well as contract work with Specialized Bicycle Components in Morgan Hill, CA. I have completed training courses with certification from the Professional Bicycle Mechanics’ Association, Specialized, Shimano, SRAM, Rock Shox, DT Swiss, and Campagnolo among many others.

I have also been trusted with the bikes of several top-level athletes including National Champions such as Justin Williams (L39ion of Los Angeles 2018 and 2019 Amateur National Road Champion, 2018 Amateur National Crit Champion), Sunny Gilbert (Blue Competition Cycles, 2021 National Single Speed National Champion), and Michael Boros (2021 Czech National Cyclocross Champion). I also have supported several top level local athletes such as Erin O’mara (2022 Belgian Waffle Ride, Michigan Elite winner, 2022 Michigan Elite Women Cyclocross State Champion) and Sam Junge (2022 Michigan Elite Men Cyclocross State Champion and fellow bike mechanic!)
